Policies and Regulations

We are absolutely delighted to have you with us at 601 Studios. We consider our students, clients, instructors, and staff one big community of learning and artistry enhancement. Thank you for choosing us to join you in your artistic journey.

Below you will find the guidelines that keep our academy a smooth-running operation. All students/parents/guardians sign an agreement reflecting these guidelines during registration. We have incorporated these policies and rules so that 601 Studios can be the most enjoyable and worthwhile experience for all involved. We ask that all participants at 601 Studios abide by these rules and policies.

THIS SECTION FOR TUITION STUDENTS:

———————————————————

TUITION AND LESSON RATES

All payments are processed by pre-authorized credit/debit cards or auto drafts from checking accounts on the first business day of the month. The rate for weekly 30-minute lessons is $150 each month, and for weekly 60-minute lessons is $300 each month. Tuition is never prorated for missed lessons. Tuition does not include any retail teaching materials such as books or instruments.

LESSONS CANCELLATIONS AND MAKEUPS

For any lesson missed by a teacher, the Studios will attempt to provide a guest instructor. If a guest instructor is unavailable, a private makeup lesson with the instructor will be scheduled promptly. For any lesson missed by a student, the student may choose between a makeup video from the instructor with instruction and material to be worked on and for practice, or a credit for one of our Group Makeups. We hold one hour group makeup classes throughout the month by instrument. These classes are age and level appropriate, and Group Make Up credits never expire. To sign up for a make up class, contact our front desk (not the instructor) for a date and time. Our makeup options are in lieu of refunds. We do not issue refunds for tuition lessons.

WITHDRAWING/DISCONTINUING LESSONS

To discontinue lessons and to discontinue charges to your account, fill out the withdrawal form before the 15th of your last month. We do not prorate tuition for the last month’s lessons. Students will be responsible for their last month’s lessons whether or not they attend the lessons. You may utilize the makeup videos and group makeup credits in your last month like normal.

AVERAGE OF 4 LESSONS PER MONTH

Monthly tuition is based on a 48 week year. We are closed for four weeks for holidays (Spring Break, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas). In the long months, you will receive 5 lessons, short months you will receive 3 lessons, and most months you will receive 4 lessons. Tuition each month is the same regardless of the number of lessons you receive; i.e. you will not be charged more for receiving more lessons in a month, and you will not be charged less for receiving less lessons in a month. This makes everyone’s accounting easier.

THIS SECTION FOR STUDENTS TAKING SINGLE LESSONS (including Trial Lessons):

For students who would like to schedule lessons without committing to a day and time, we offer Lesson-By-Lesson scheduling. Please read and agree to the terms below for this type of scheduling:

  1. All lessons are paid for at the time of scheduling.

  2. Preference for lesson slots and times are given to tuition students. We will not ask you to reschedule a lesson with less than 48 hours notice.

  3. Lesson rates are $45 for 30 minute lessons, and $90 for 60 minute lessons.

  4. All students must maintain a credit/debit card on file. We will never charge your card without notifying you first.

  5. We have a 48-Hour Notice Policy. This policy is noted on our website at signup, and can be accessed anytime.

If a student must cancel a lesson before the 48-hour notice window:

  • First, we will try to reschedule your lesson for that same week. This is the best option for both the student and the instructor. If you cannot or do not want to reschedule, then we will refund you for that lesson.

If a student must cancel a lesson after the 48-hour notice window:

  • We will first try to reschedule your lesson for the same week, preferably in a window where the instructor will already be at the studios.

  • If we cannot reschedule the lesson for the same week, the student will receive a video makeup from the instructor with instruction and material to be worked on and for practice .

If an instructor needs to miss a lesson:

  • The instructor may suggest a guest instructor for your lesson so that the student does not miss a week of instruction.

  • The instructor may suggest an alternative meeting day and time for the same week if the student is available.

——————————————————

FOR ALL STUDENTS:

  1. We provide courtesy email and text reminders 24 hours before your scheduled lessons, as well as confirmation emails for all scheduled lessons, classes, and workshops. Please make personal notes of all scheduled, lessons, classes, and workshops.

  2. Instructors may leave the Studios after 15 minutes of “no show”, and the missed lesson payment will remain the responsibility of the student.

  3. The nature of art & music instruction is subjective and can often change from teacher to teacher. If there is a specific technique that you desire, please communicate this to the teacher. This also ensures that the teacher is the best fit for the student.

SUMMER VACATION

601 Studios operates year round and does not close for the summer. We are happy to offer unlimited make up classes for our students, and these never expire. If you plan on taking a month off for vacation and hope to resume lessons when you return, you will be charged regularly to maintain your lesson schedule and you will be credited makeup lesson credits for the lessons you missed.

CARE OF STUDENTS

601 Studios is not responsible for providing before and after care for students. Parents with children under the age of 9 must remain at the studios during their lessons/classes. Students are not to be left at the studios for excessive time before or after their lessons.

OPEN DOOR POLICY

Parents are welcome to sit in on the first lesson, and can always check in through the glass windows that are in every room. Safety of our students is our number one priority, and there is always a staff member present during lesson hours.

INJURIES

Parents, legal guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on 601 Studios’ property resulting from normal lesson activity or any other activity conducted by the students or their siblings before, during, or after lesson time, including hearing loss or hearing damage. 601 Studios is not responsible for any damage done to vehicles or items stolen from vehicles.

PICKING UP

Children 12 and under must wait for their parents to pick them up inside the Studios. Please do not ask them to meet you elsewhere. 601 Studios assumes no responsibility for children who leave unaccompanied.
